May 2011

I have been really absent from blogging since sometime in May, so I'm going to attempt to catch up on things briefly.  The purpose of this blog was really so that I can turn it into a book at the end of our time in Oregon, so I want to try to go back and briefly note many of the adventures I have missed in the past couple of months.... and then try to stay more on top of things!  Probably for my own sake more than anyone else, but still enjoy.  :)

It was COLD in May, yet the boys still enjoyed a lot of time outside playing in the water.  :)

The only fruit so far that Gavin does not like is pineapple.  This is after enjoying some blackberries.  Wow.  He loves those things.  They rate right up there with blueberries.

Elijah had a Mother's Tea at preschool.  He is in the back row on the end.  They sang some songs - including one that Elijah had taught to his class.  It was going to be a solo, but at the last minute the rest of the kids wanted to sing it too.  It was so cute and I had no idea that was planned.  :)  So proud of Elijah.

The artwork from Elijah's preschool class was displayed at a local coffee shop for the first Friday art walk.  Elijah is posing by his artwork.

A VERY cold day in May, that happened to be when I was running a 5k and Elijah ran his first kids fun run.  Elijah was keeping himself busy while I was off running.

The kid's fun run part.  He was really nervous about doing it, so I ended up running with him.   But then once we finished the (very short) course, we went back and ran it again.  He was very proud of himself and we were also very proud of him!

Dirt.  Gavin LOVES the dirt in the backyard.

Elijah self portrait.  He really likes to get the camera and take all sorts of goofy pics.  He recently wanted his hair chopped off, so it is amazing to see just how long it really was!

This waterfall is located probably 10 minutes from our house.  So beautiful!

This is the very end of May.  We thought we would go hike above the waterfall (again only 10 minutes from our house), but we were very surprised to find snow to play in instead.

Thankfully we then found a great spot to throw rocks.  Good redeeming quality of the cold day.
Well, that is the month of May in very brief summary for the blog post.  On to June next!  :)
